January 2026 We are delighted to announce that Juliette Boynton has been appointed a Director at Schlich and Sean Hughes has been promoted to Principal.
Juliette Boynton
Since joining Schlich in 2013, Juliette has consistently been a hardworking and welcoming member of the team. In addition to her work as a Chartered and European Patent Attorney and Chartered Trade Mark Attorney, Juliette sits on the firm’s EDI working group, where she actively implements initiatives and policies to support equality in the firm.
Juliette was awarded a Silver ranking in the 2025 IAM Patent 1000, which highlighted her “extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of European patent prosecution and advice, as well as with her subject matter expertise in the chemistry and biochemistry technology areas.”
Juliette now joins founder, George Schlich, Alex Bajjon, and Simon Wright as Directors of Schlich.
Sean Hughes
Sean joined Schlich in 2015 and has been promoted to Principal in recognition of his significant contributions to the company. Sean was recognised as a Rising Star in both the 2023 and 2024 Managing IP Rankings, highlighting his ability to appreciate the “full picture” and tailor his IP advice to clients’ commercial goals.
In addition to his client work, Sean is actively researching the role artificial intelligence (AI) can play in IP, finding innovative and efficient ways for Schlich to utilise the technology to enhance internal workflows.
