If there are two things the Schlich team love more than anything else, it’s coffee and cake!

On Friday, 30 September 2022, we hosted a Macmillian Coffee Morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support; a charity that provides specialist cancer healthcare and support to patients and their families.

The Schlich team certainly did not disappoint, supplying mounds of homemade goods for us all to feast on, including: an Italian pear cake, a Biscoff cheesecake, salted caramel brownies, a chocolate and banana loaf, cookies, and even a healthy option of fruit skewers.

The competition for best appearance and (most importantly!) best taste was accepted by all who participated, making the process of selecting the winners extremely difficult… however, we are pleased to announce that the winners were…

Best appearance: Biscoff cheesecake, made by Marti Lewis.

Best taste: a joint win for the Italian pear cake, made by Alex Bajjon, and once again, the Biscoff cheesecake (we told you picking a winner was hard…).

Whilst the cake eating was delicious, raising money and awareness for cancer support was at the heart of the day and in Schlich was very pleased to have the opportunity to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Support of cancer charities is held very close to our hearts. A number of our clients have patent applications and/or patents focussing on cancer treatments and therapies, and their hard work on developing new treatments is vital to the cause.

If you would like to host your own coffee morning, or wish to donate to Macmillan Cancer Support, further information can be found on their website: https://www.macmillan.org.uk/.
