A Lozenge for Buccal Drug Delivery |
A lozenge is provided that has stable pH and stable levels of active ingredient over time. It comprises a combination of (i) at least one gum and (ii) at least one non-crystallising sugar or non-crystallising sugar alcohol in a matrix designed for controlled buccal delivery of a drug. The lozenge also contains water and optional components selected from flavourings, taste masking agents, colourings, buffer components, pH adjusting agents, excipients, stabilizers and sweeteners. Methods of preparing the lozenge are also provided.

The present invention provides a process for handling delta 9-THC, which comprises preparing a solution of delta 9-THC in a solvent which exists as a gas at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. The invention also provides solutions of delta 9-THC in the solvent and solid preparations of delta 9-THC.

Solvate of Cabergoline and Preparations of Cabergoline Form I

A method of preparing cabergoline Form I, comprising forming a solvate including cabergoline and a p-disubstituted benzene of formula (A) and obtaining cabergoline Form I from the solvate. Another aspect of the present invention provides a method for preparing cabergoline Form I comprising dissolving cabergoline in p-disubstituted benzene and recovering the cabergoline Form I polymorph, suitably by direct crystallization of Form I or by recovery of a solvate which can be converted to Form I.
